Hello, my name is Lance Thompson. I am an Olympic Trap Shooter from Carlisle, PA. I am working and training to reach my dream of representing my country in the 2028 Summer Olympics in the sport of Olympic Trap.
I am attending Jacksonville University on a full ride scholarship to earn a Degree in International Business and Marketing. I am also a member and one of the Captains of the Jacksonville University Varsity Shotgun Team.
I started shooting when I was 9 years old. I started by taking a NRA Shotgun Safety Course. It was suggested, during that class, that I try competitive Shooting. I was soon introduced to the Sport of Olympic Trap Shooting. I loved it so much I decided to completely dedicate myself to becoming the best Olympic Trap shooter in the world. I have been training and competing ever since.
I compete not just in the USA but globally. I have competed in Italy, France, Germany, Malta, Canada and numerous competitions throughout the USA. In 2018 I made the USA Junior Olympic Team and in 2021 I won the title of USA Shooting Collegiate National Champion and USA Shooting PA State Champion and my Team, Jacksonville University, won the National SCTP Championship.
Olympic Trap has taught me about hard work and dedication; it has helped me in all aspects of my life. I am very thankful and appreciative of the opportunity and experience this sport provides.
I am very blessed to have such great Parents, Family, Coaches, Teachers, Teammates, Sponsors and Friends supporting me every step of the way.
